Three Kings' Day

Three Kings’ Day (January 6th)

                The day of Three Kings is celebrated in the 6th of January.
It traditionally finishes the sun‘s return celebration. That day the Christians celebrate Three Kings, named Caspar, Merkel and Balthazar, who visited Jesus Christ, celebration.

               In the villages of Lithuania the men used to dress up with old-time clothes, representing Lithuanian senior and pagan priests and antiquity warriors. Sometimes they had sun‘s picture and crooked staff with them, wished to have good harvest, health, asked for the gifts. In that day the chalk was ordained in the churches. With the ordained chalk people write the letters K+M+B over the doorpost.
